    I hope this letter finds you and your loved ones well as we come to the end of a most extraordinary academic year. Whilst we have managed periods of self-isolation, lockdowns, cancellation of exams, the process of teacher assessed grades and much more, I have been pleased to see how this crisis has brought many of us closer together and I thank you for the support you have given the school throughout the year.     Dear Parent/Carer

    As you know, we had hoped to gather our Year 13 pupils this week for their rearranged liturgy, followed by a celebratory barbecue. However, in light of the continued rise in infection rates in the North West, and the delay in reducing social distance guidelines, we have had to take the sad decision to cancel the event in school. However, we will send this out virtually, via Google Classroom, so that all of our pupils can spend some time watching and reflecting upon their SJP journey.

    As I am sure you will be very much aware, COVID 19 cases continue to rise throughout the Wirral. The Government has announced yesterday that self isolation will continue for the remainder of the summer term for close contacts of positive cases. Additionally, we have had a large proportion of staff who are absent due to positive covid tests, self isolation due to NHS app notifications or due to symptomatic / positive family members.

    As you may be aware, we have sent a number of Year 8 students home to self-isolate. The students we have sent home have been in close contact with a student that has tested positive. In addition we have been made aware of a number of pupils who are isolating due to having covid symptoms or have had to isolate due to being a close contact out of school.
