As you may be aware, we have sent a large number of Year 9 students home to self-isolate. The students we have sent home have been in close contact with a student that has tested positive.

In recent weeks, we have seen a rapid rise in Covid-19 cases in Wirral. Currently Wirral has rates of 121 per 100,000 population and is on an upward trajectory. The dominant strain of virus in the UK is called the Delta variant, evidence suggests that this variant spreads more easily than previous strains of the virus.

We know that you may find this concerning but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England. This letter is to inform you of the current situation and provide advice on how to support your child. Please be reassured that for most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness.

As you know, we had planned to complete a full set of Yr 10 trial examinations week commencing 21st June 2021. However, in light of the recent rise in infection rates in the North West and the delay in reducing social distance guidelines, we have had to take the decision to reduce the number of trial examinations that Yr 10 students will sit in the Sports Hall.

We have organised another ski trip for January 2022. The next ski trip will be to Alpe D’Huez in France and will take place between Saturday 8th January and Saturday 15th January 2022.
