I hope that you are well. Following on from my letter last week I write to update you with details for the planned NEU strike action which takes place Tuesday 2nd May, after the school is closed on Monday 1st May Bank Holiday.
Having reviewed staffing levels and our risk assessment I have decided to open the college to the following students on Tuesday 2nd May:
Tuesday 2 May
- Year 11 Beta including those pupils taking the Yr11 BTEC PE resit exam (cohort of 22 pupils)
- Y12 BTEC PE Exam preparation
- Y12 BTEC Media Exam
- Y12 Applied Science
- All of year 13 including those pupils taking the Y13 BTEC Media resit Exam and Y13 BTEC Performing Arts resit Exam.
As you will see above, planned examinations or examination preparation that has been scheduled will continue during these days.
In order to minimise the disruption to other children’s education, work will be set on Google classroom for years 7 to 10. Where staff present for work, there will be set work within their classroom group. Where staff are absent work will be available in the year group classroom to support children with revision of key subject areas.
Thank you as always for your understanding and support.
Mr P McLoughlin
Head of School
