St John Plessington Catholic College

SJP Launch DofE Resource Section on the College Website

The Duke of Edinburgh Award is an internationally recognised Award designed to challenge and inspire young people to realise and release their full potential.  To complete the Award, participants must commit to a wide range of activities designed to enhance their physical, social and emotional wellbeing.

At St John Plessington we believe it is essential to provide a rounded education to cater to all of our students to ensure that when they leave they are the best possible versions of themselves.  This is why we compliment our academic studies by offering the Bronze Award to all students at the start of Year 9 with many choosing to venture through the levels by completing Silver in Year 10 and Gold in Year 13.  In order to support students, parents, and carers through this process I have created a new resource section as part of the College's website.  This page contains step by step instructions on how to complete the various stages of the Award whilst offering essential advice for the exciting adventure which is the expedition section.

I hope that this is a helpful addition and if you have any further queries about the Award, please contact me via the school office.
