Science - GCSE Prepper

Dear Parents/Carer

Science - GCSE Prepper

I am writing to inform you of a new site that we are going to be using in Science this year to help your child succeed in our subject. GCSE Prepper is an online learning space that deploys exam style questions to aid resilient learning and develop retention and recall of knowledge.

Each week, your child will receive homework assignments to complete on the site, which has an inbuilt support function should they require help in completing the task. They should click on the ‘need a hint?’ button in the bottom right of the screen for each question if they are struggling, which will redirect them to a summary sheet for the topic. We would really appreciate your support in the roll out of this through encouragement to complete the tasks set.

Each student should now have an account set up on GCSE Prepper where the login details are the same as for their Google Classroom account. When logging on for the first time, they should click on the ‘Sign in with Google’ option and use their Google Classroom login username and password. If they have any issues with this they should speak with their Science teacher in the first instance.

If there are any issues with digital learning provision, please be aware that we have computers available for use in our library after school. It may also be possible to loan a computer from school. Please contact the HoL team if this is something you feel may be required.

If you have any questions regarding GCSE Prepper, please contact Mr Lysaght (Head of Science) by emailing the school office at schooloffice@stjohnplessington.com.

Yours faithfully

Mr K Lysaght

Head of Science
