St John Plessington Catholic College

Return to school

Dear families

I hope that you are well and that the Easter break has allowed you to spend some quality time with each other.

As we enter into a very busy final term, I would like to remind you that the college is open for all students tomorrow Monday 24 April.  Your child should be on the yard at 08:30 ready for first lesson, this week is week B.

Could I please ask you to ensure that your child is in full school uniform, this means that any jewellery/piercings, fake tan etc should be removed and school shoes should be worn. Trainers must NOT be worn. Students are not required to wear a jumper this term, should they wish.

We will continue to monitor punctuality closely this term to ensure that disruption to lessons when a student arrives late is minimised.  Should students receive a late mark they will be issued with a 30 minute detention for that afternoon, parents will continue to be notified by text should this be the case.  As ever we ask you to encourage your child to avoid this by ensuring that they arrive at school and lessons on time and are ready, respectful and safe at all times.

As we approach the GCSE and A Level exams I will write to you later this week with further updates regarding examinations and upcoming events this term. Again for students in years 10 - 13 who do have examinations this term, I would urge you to encourage your child to spend at least 90 minutes to 2 hours per evening doing additional private study.

Thank you as always for your continued support.  By working in partnership, together we can all ensure that your child receives the education they rightly deserve.
