St John Plessington Catholic College

Remembrance Day

During the month of November, we especially remember those who have died, from our families and among our friends. We are grateful to them for the faith and for the gift of family they have passed on to us or the friendship they have given to us. We thank God for all those who have touched our hearts and our lives.

Remembering those who have lost their lives in the service of their country

On the morning of Monday 11th November 2019 a silence fell over our college community as both Staff and students observed a time of silence to show their respect for those who have died in the service of their country.

Students representing each of the classes taking place in the College were invited to gather in the College Atrium around our newly created “Remembrance Obelisk” to celebrate a Liturgy of Remembrance which included the laying of the SJP Poppy Wreath. The Last Post was sounded by Mr Austin a former member of Staff.

It was truly a wonderful reflection of the values upon which our community is based.
