SJP Year 7 ‘First Steps’ Experience
As part of your child’s induction to our College community, we are continuing with an initiative which has been extremely successful over numerous years, which we believe will help to further enhance the transition process for all our Year 7 children. It is called the Year 7 ‘First Steps’ Experience. The date of this trip will be Monday 24th – Wednesday 26th April 2023 and every Year 7 pupil is invited to attend this 3-days/2-nights educational residential trip, at the Conway Centre, North Wales. We are very fortunate to have secured a booking, as it is extremely popular with many school groups.
The Conway Centre is a leading residential activity centre provider, welcoming over 130,000 children each year. Their centres provide a rewarding educational programme offering many curriculum linked modules, combined with thrilling outdoor and indoor adventure activities, with secure and controlled residential accommodation.
Residential courses organised by the College are an invaluable part of the Curriculum. Pupils benefit hugely from this experience, both educationally and socially. I feel certain that the Transition Programme, which we have chosen this year, will prove to be both enjoyable and very worthwhile.
This is a team-building event for which we ask you to contribute £240 to this experience. The cost includes travel by coach, full board, accommodation and a full programme of indoor and outdoor activities. We ask that you complete the Google reply form HERE and pay a £50 deposit to College via the parentmail app by Monday 21st November to guarantee a place for your child. ParentMail is set up ready for you to register and make payment. You have the option to either pay the remaining amount in full, or in instalments; the amount must be paid in full by the trip date.
It is hoped that all Year 7 pupils will participate in this wonderful opportunity to get to know others and experience success via new challenges.
