20-Dec-22 Christmas End of Term

Dear Families

As we come to the end of another busy term we are sure that everyone is ready for the Christmas break.

There have been a number of changes with our behaviour, uniform and appearance checks and we would like to thank our students and parents for your continued support to ensure that students look smart and take pride in their school. We will continue with this after the Christmas holidays so please ensure that any eyelashes, false tan and nails are removed well in advance of the start of the new school term. A reminder that school shoes must be worn at all times.

We look forward to opening our brand new 8 classroom block in January. The Geography and RE department have started to move in and are really looking forward to teaching in the new state of art classrooms. Each room has been equipped with acoustic boards, 86” touchscreen Prowise boards as well as a fully furnished breakout teaching space. Please see our Newsletter for some more information and images.

We say goodbye to Ms Sharratt, Ms Drummond, Ms Edwards-Sutton, Ms Haworth, Ms Woods, Ms Smith and Ms Prasad. We would like to thank them for all of their hard work and commitment during their time here at SJP.

We have recently welcomed Mr Gallagher to SJP as our Student Support Leader. In January we will be joined by Mr Downs (Teacher of Science), Mrs Hulse (Teacher of Health & Social Care), Ms Pryce (Midday assistant) and Mrs Myerscough (Teacher of RE). We would like to welcome them all into our SJP community.

We close this week with our celebration assemblies for each year group and our traditional Christmas liturgical prayer with students which will showcase some of the amazing performances from our Trust celebration of ‘Carols by Candlelight’.

A reminder that on Wednesday 21st December, all students must attend in full school uniform but they can wear a Christmas jumper or a Christmas item. We will start dismissal for KS4 at 11:30 and KS3 will be dismissed at 12pm on this day, however, please be mindful there are no school buses running in the afternoon. School will open for all students on Thursday 5th January 2023 at normal time.

Please remember to read our Newsletter which will be shared following this letter to see some of the amazing things that have happened over the past few weeks at SJP.

We do hope that you all have a Happy and Peaceful Christmas break and enjoy some quality time with your family. We look forward to many more exciting ventures in 2023.
