About the Course:

This course is a BTEC National Award, equivalent to A Level. Do you have a genuine interest in sport? Are you interested in pursuing a  career related to physical education, sport or fitness and health?

The BTEC National Award is a natural progression from the BTEC  First Certificate and is designed to further develop students into independent learners. Throughout the course students will have  opportunities to study a variety of topics and build upon their knowledge and understanding of the world of sport. The nature of the course not only gives learners the opportunity to develop their knowledge and understanding of aspects of sport but it also allows  them to improve their organisational skills, time management and the ability to apply learning to a vocational context.  Students will  develop personal skills and attitudes essential for successful performance in working life.

Throughout the two years of the course, students will follow 6 units and complete a variety of assignment tasks. All assessment is  made through completion of assignments and coursework - there is no formal exam at the end of the course. Each assignment has a  specific vocational context and a scenario in order to allow pupils to relate their studies to the working environment.
