On Tuesday 26th September pupils and staff celebrated the European Day of Languages. There were plenty of opportunities to sample European delicacies including chorizo, anchovies and croissants. We were impressed by pupils’ courage at tasting new foods and many were surprised to find that they really enjoyed it. At break time we were ‘bouled’ over by Monsieur Furlong’s skills at French boules. At lunch time year seven pupils frantically searched the college to complete their treasure hunt whilst year eight impressed staff throughout the day by using Spanish in non-MFL lessons. During Academic Review Y9 put their European knowledge to the test and took part in an inter-form quiz about Europe.

Overall it was a fantastic day and many thanks go to all staff and students involved in making the day a success and embracing all things European - we learned about the importance of languages, tried new things and learnt some useful phrases. ¡Qué bien!
