Another great year for GCSE results at SJP

The school is exceptionally pleased with the performance of our students this year who have once again delivered an excellent set of results despite changes at GCSE to the new 9-1 more challenging examinations in English and Maths.

In English 81% of students have achieved grade 4 and above, and in Mathematics 67% achieved grade 4 and above, which gave a combined figure of 63% of students achieving grade 4 and above in English and Maths. (The government has indicated that grade 4 is equivalent to a grade C under the old system).

Head Teacher Mr Quinn said: “We are delighted with the achievements of all our Year 11 students who have worked hard and achieved strong results. We look forward to welcoming our largest ever Sixth Form back to our new state of the art £1.7 million Sixth Form Centre in September. Despite the changes encountered at GCSE, the students’ application together with first-class teaching and support from staff, has enabled them to realise their potential. All pupils and teachers should be congratulated on their hard work and also thanks to parents for their continued support.”
