DofE Silver

Over the past two weeks, SJP has seen 75 Year 10 students embark on their Silver Duke of Edinburgh Journey.  It is wonderful to see so many of our students building on their success at Bronze level to challenge themselves further through skill, physical, volunteering and expedition sections.

This challenge was embodied as students completed their practice expedition in North Wales in early May.  These expeditions provided valuable learning experiences that you simply cannot achieve in the classroom.  During the course of these expeditions, pupils were required to be self-sufficient for 3 days, navigating their way through challenging terrain whilst being responsible for cooking meals and setting camp.  All of our students were exceptional and the resilience and teamwork shown in times of struggle were awe-inspiring and a real credit to their character.

We are extremely proud of all of our students who take on the challenge of the DofE as they contribute so much to our college and often remind us that nothing is impossible.
