On the 9th of January a group Year 10 girls were invited to attend a Girls in Maths Day at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, Liverpool University.
The day consisted of three sessions of maths activities that highlighted maths in real life scenarios ranging from music, movement, and statistical medical research. The day was lead by women from the University and industry demonstrating the diversity of their jobs. The day finished off with careers talks further demonstrating the relevance of maths in their day to day work.
The whole day was a real success and empowered our students to recognise the important role women play in modern-day STEM subjects and that they are a relevant career path for female students at degree level.
