A big thank you to students from LIPA who visited SJP on Monday and Wednesday this week to work with our Y9 pupils. Theatre in Education Performances over the course of both days explored the theme of 'refugees' in historical and contemporary contexts.
Here Comes Christmas was a huge success! Thank you to our neighbors and the whole school community for coming along and getting involved. We made a profit of over £7000 which will be put into school based projects and Wirral Food Bank.
On Wednesday 29th November, Mrs Smart took 23 Y8 pupils to the University of Liverpool for a Routes into Languages Film and Culture event. We travelled by train and had opportunities to practise speaking in Spanish on the journey with our Foreign Language Assistant Maria. During the day we had a series of lectures and seminars which gave us a taste of life at university and our student guide for the day, Robyn, answered the pupils’ questions about studying at university.
SJP claim 1st, 2nd and 3rd in this weekend’s Merseyside Saturday Morning Cross Country Championship! Well done Keira, Ethan and Aidan.
Year 8 pupil Keira Brady Jones achieved a 5th place finish in the INTERNATIONAL Cross Country Challenge in Milton Keynes at the weekend!! Amazing Keira! Very well done!!!
Last Tuesday a group of twelve students from Year 13, currently studying English Literature and exploring Shakespeare’s play King Lear, set out on a trip to Stratford-upon-Avon to visit the birthplace of Shakespeare - a town interlaced with his influence, inspired by his journey, his life and his works.
Our Duke of Edinburgh Award programme enjoyed a fantastic awards evening with special guest Gill Burns, MBE, and former Captain of England’s Women’s Rugby Team. During the evening we celebrated the achievements of 134 of our pupils by awarding them with this highly prestigious award at Bronze, Silver and Gold level.
Food and Nutrition pupils visit the Cake and Bake Show!
On Friday 10th November Year 11, 12 and 13 Food and Nutrition pupils attended the Cake and Bake Show in Manchester
On Wednesday 9th November SJP’s Sixth Form took part in a Colour Run in order to raise money for the Wirral Food Bank. In the build up to the event pupils raised money through sponsorship and form collections.
All Spanish students are taking part in the international Language Perfect competition for the first time. Can we get into the top 10 in England before the weekend?!
