Over the past two weeks, SJP has seen 75 Year 10 students embark on their Silver Duke of Edinburgh Journey. It is wonderful to see so many of our students building on their success at Bronze level to challenge themselves further through skill, physical, volunteering and expedition sections.
I have recently been elected to be a young person parliament representative for the Wirral.
Last week, Ms Richards and Miss Donley took the cast of 'The Small Hours' to perform at the HOME Theatre in Manchester.
On Saturday 28th April The Harlem Globetrotters came to Liverpool. Miss Obermuller and four boys attended the show to experience some amazing skills and tricks! They even met the players at the end for pictures and autographs.
We left SJP in the small hours of the morning. 30 students ranging from year 8 to year 13: eyes full of sleep yet excitement!
Shortly before spring break twenty of our Spanish pupils from year nine and ten did a study tour of Barcelona.
Everyone was very excited to arrive in Spain and pupils confidently conversed with the Spanish staff in the airport and even asked for passports to be stamped in Spanish! That evening, following dinner, we visited a local churrería and all enjoyed some churros y chocolate.
Students from our Year 7 Mandarin Excellence Programme spent Tuesday 19th March at the University of Leeds for a Chinese culture day run by the East Asian Studies Department.
The following students attended and/or participated in the SJP v SMCC Sixth Form Debate competition on Monday 25th March at St Mary's and both the Y12 and Y13 teams have returned to college victorious.
