On Friday 20th October 2017 our Year 7 Students gathered in St Anne’s Church in Rock Ferry together with their Form Tutors, their families and other members of staff, to celebrate Mass together to mark the beginning of their journey as members of the SJP family.
The theme of the Mass was “Be inspirational”. During Mass Fr. Bernard asked the students to think about people who had had inspired them and how they could inspire people around them to be followers of Jesus in the world today.
Students from each of our Form Groups participated in the various parts of the liturgy of the Mass, while members of our newly formed Year 7 Choir sang two solo items during the distribution of Holy Communion.We hope that we have given our students a lovely memory to cherish.
We believe as a Catholic community that the best gift we can possibly give to our young people, as they begin their journey with us, is the celebration of Mass together - a reminder of God’s great gift to us, his Son Jesus.
