  • Update on BTEC Grading

    Update on BTEC Grading


    Dear Parent/Carer/ Year 11 pupil

    At 16:45 yesterday, Pearson, the examination board responsible for BTEC qualifications, announced that BTEC grades would be reviewed in line with all GCSE and A Level examinations. Initially, they had stated that they believed that BTEC results were not affected by the wider changes to GCSE and A Level grades however we, like many other schools had disputed this assertion. While this uncertainty is totally unacceptable, we are pleased that our pupils should now get the results that reflect their ability and potential.

    GCSE results will be issued to pupils via email on Thursday 20 August from 8 am.

    SIXTH FORM ENROLMENT:

    Pupils will receive a letter with details of automatic enrolment and arrangements for the start of term from Thursday 20 August.

    SIXTH FORM ENROLMENT:

    If we have to discuss your GCSE results and sixth form subject choices, we will be in touch to arrange meetings in school for pupils and parents on Thursday 20 August.
