Google Classroom Update
I would like to thank you for your continued support in ensuring your child is accessing Google Classroom and completing relevant learning materials. I appreciate that this is a new and difficult situation for us all where we are having to adapt to a very different way of life at present.

I hope that you are keeping safe and well. These are extra-ordinary times and we’re being asked to do extra-ordinary things! I’m sure you will be instilling in your children the need to be responsible in their actions, the importance of keeping themselves safe, staying indoors and following the same guidance we all have to in strictly limiting the time they are out and about.

Guidance for schools remaining open from Monday was posted in the early hours this morning (see link below). The guidance is clear, “If children can stay safely at home, they should’’.
As you will be aware, schools will be closed at the end of the day on Friday 20th March.
In the event that the school does have to close due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, students will be able to continue their studies via Google Classroom. Teachers have been working hard to ensure that this is all up and running. Each teacher has set up a class within Google Classroom that their students can access whilst they are not in school. This facility enables teachers to upload resources, assignments, tasks and include links to relevant learning websites. Your child has been given a sheet with the relevant class codes needed for them to access their subject classes. They have also been told what their username and password is to access Google Classroom. However, please see below for detailed instructions to follow when using Google Classroom.
Please note that we will be setting up Google Classroom to allow our pupils and staff to access work remotely should the need arise. Full instructions will be shared will pupils and parents over the next couple of days. In addition, pupils can access work through the following online sites:

I just want to write to you regarding the Coronavirus outbreak and give you an update on our contingency plans should the decision be made by the authorities to close schools up and down the country for a period of time.
Last week, our students from the performing arts department, performed 'The Changing Room' by Chris Bush. The play is about the difficulties of being a teenager and how their emotions change as they enter the teenage years.
With this week marking British Science Week, it was very fitting that on Saturday 7th March, three of our Year 12 Chemistry students, Isabel, Caitlin, and Harry, had the opportunity to attend the annual Merseyside young analyst competition hosted by Liverpool University.
On Wednesday 4th March, our year 8s took part in National Enterprise Day. Throughout the day they developed their own product, brand, logo, marketing strategy, and social media competitions. In the afternoon they then had to showcase their ideas to the rest of the year group on stage. Our three judges couldn't choose just one winner, so they decided to merge two groups together and formed a new team that will compete in the National Finals.
