During the half term breakone hundred and thirteen of our pupils travelled by coach and ferry to Lésignynear Paris. Everyone was very excited to arrive in France. We arrived at our accommodation ‘Chateau de Grande Romaine’ where we enjoyed settling in, having an evening meal and participating in the evening activities.
Year 7 had their disco on Friday 8th February to help continue to raise funds for World Challenge Costa Rica. Lots of fun was had by all!
Today at SJP we are celebrating the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. Science and gender equality are both vital for the achievement of the internationally agreed development goals, including the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Over the past 15 years, the global community has made a lot of effort in inspiring and engaging women and girls in science. Yet women and girls continue to be excluded from participating fully in science.
The Digital Explorers Workshop engaged our students with a range of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STE(A)M) subject areas and hands-on activities. The day was designed to excite and enlighten our students on how STE(A)M is fun, interesting, and results in a rewarding career.
In the last week of term before the Christmas holidays, all of our Y13 students participated in their first Oracy Conference Day. Working in forms, they considered the topic of the NHS and debated whether or not it should be privatised.
