St John Plessington Catholic College

Another great year for GCSE results at SJP

The College is exceptionally pleased with the performance of our students this year who have once again achieved an excellent set of results despite significant changes at GCSE to the new 9-1 grades.

In English, 77% of students have achieved grade 4 and above, and in Mathematics 66% have achieved grade 4 and above, this gives us a combined figure of 60% of our students achieving grade 4 and above in English and Maths.

Executive Head Teacher Mr Quinn said:

“We are delighted with the achievements of all our Year 11 students who have worked hard and achieved excellent results.

We look forward to welcoming students back to Sixth Form where they will benefit from our state of the art £1.7 million Sixth Form Centre. Despite the changes encountered at GCSE, the students’ application together with first-class teaching and support from all staff and parents, has enabled them to realise their potential. All pupils and teachers should be congratulated on their hard work and we wish to thank parents for their continued support.”
