    How to apply for a place at the College

    SJP is an oversubscribed Catholic comprehensive Voluntary-Aided . The Governors are responsible for Admissions and they consider applications according to criteria agreed by the College and the Diocese of Shrewsbury. The Governors consider these applications in a priority order made available to Wirral Local Authority.

    For 2017/2018 the Planned Admission number has been set at 255.

    For 2018/2019 the Planned Admission number has been set at 255.

    Appeals

    If you wish to make an Appeal for your child to be admitted to St John Plessington, please ring the College to ask for an Appeal Form. (Please note that the deadline for returning the Appeal Form is Thursday 30th March 2017). The Appeals Process will be outlined by the Chair of the independent Appeals Panel, Mr N Orme. Mr T Quinn, Head Teacher, on behalf of the Governors, will make a presentation outlining why your child was unable to be given a place at St John Plessington.

    Appeals Timetable

    • Appeals to be returned to us by Thursday 30th March 2017.
    • Each appellant will be given at least 10 school days’ notice of their individual appeal hearing date. 
    • Any additional information to be received by Friday 21st April 2017.
    • Appeals hearings will commence the week beginning Wednesday 3rd May 2017 and are expected to continue for around three weeks.

    The planned admission number for 2016/2017 was 235
    24 pupils were admitted by the Independent Appeals Panel.

    A New Parents’ Evening is held each July for all new Year 7 pupils and their families. Pupils are admitted to other Year groups only if places are available.
